It's official!!!

Doug picked up his diploma from OSU today!!! He took his last spanish class in a hurry to finally complete all the requirements!!! So, today he was able to pick it up and make everything official!!! We got a nice new frame to put his diploma in and it looks great in our office!!! I am so proud of him!!! We celebrated by going to Spaghetti Warehouse and Jeni's for ice cream!!! :)

Chihuly at Franklin Park Conservatory

We went today with Doug, Kate, and Shelden to the Franklin Park Conservatory where we saw the Chihuly exhibit. We also got to sit and see a glass blowing demonstration. Amazing!!! Makes me want to start a new hobby :) The pieces on display in the different sections were so beautiful! Anyone feeling nice can surely buy me a piece. I think the cheapest was $1600 and it was the size of a bowl *lol* So neat! Anyone wanting to do anything fun this fall, come and see it! You won't be disappointed. On Thursdays, they do coctails and you can walk around at night and see all the displays! Doug and I are thinking of doing that soon!

Weekend with Shelden

Shelden spent the weekend with Doug and I and we had a lot of fun! He's really into skateboarding so we took him to a skate park on campus and then one in Hilliard. We also went to a skateboard shop and then to have dinner at Five Guys (yum!!!). He also got an opportunity to attend soccer practice that they have at our park. That boy was surely busy!!! We hope he enjoyed his stay! He's getting pretty good at doing tricks!! :) Thanks for staying with us!!!

Happy 2 Months Adelyn!

Happy 2 months old Adelyn!!! My how much you have grown over the last 2 months. The way you just love your mommy and look at her is priceless!!! You are loved very much!!! :)

Weekend Fun!!!

Doug and I went home with the pups this weekend to get away from City life for a bit!!! On Saturday, we had Jess's housewarming party and got to see Adelyn and Ella and all the Putterbaugh Family! Then on Sunday, we let the dogs be dogs and let them run all over the country!!! We took them on a nice long walk back in the trails to a creek then walked them over to Bill's pond where Lola and Wesley met goats for the first time!!! Lola was so interested in them and wanted to get into their pen. She finally figured out that if she swims across the pond, she can get to them. We were afraid the goats would kick her but they didn't *thank goodness* but it was surely fun to watch. Especially watching Doug freak out and yell at lola like she's our child haha! I think he even threatened to "spank her butt" for not listening haha! Gotta love country life!!! It was a bit colder this weekend but still wonderful. Kate spoiled us with breakfast and an early dinner! She's a great cook!!! Then it was back to the grind...booo! I wish weekends were a bit longer than just 2 days! Hope everyone else had a nice weekend too!

Spanish is so last week!

Doug is finally finished with spanish and has submitted his grades (completed it with an 85%)and is officially done with Spanish and graduation!!! We pick up his diploma in 2 weeks during graudation! Since he walked at the last ceremony, we are just picking up the book with his name in it and his wonderful diploma!!!!!!!!!!!

So proud of you hun!!! I know spanish has been a thorn in your behind but so glad you stuck it out (didn't really have a choice haha) and now you are finally DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kory's Birthday Party!

Mom threw Kory a birthday party for his 18th birthday at St. Mary's lake! There was great food and fun with water balloons. It was super hot out so Mom and Kory decided to have a waterballoon fight to cool themselves off! It was fun to watch them! :) The breeze from the lake helped keep the rest of us cool! It was nice to get away and relax for a bit. We had a great time!!!

Dean's List

Hello! Just wanted to tell everyone that I made the Dean's list this past semester!!! With critical care and psych nursing to make the Dean's list is quite an accomplishment!!! :) 6 months to go until the end!!!

Petition to Graduate!!! :)

I got an e-mail from my advisor today! Attached was my petition to graduate form!!! The end is finally near! Can't wait! Just 6 more months to go and I'll be Ashlie Barker RN BSN!!!!

Hocking Hills 2009

Doug and I went to Hocking Hills with is parents to celebrate Doug and Kate's birthday! We had a great time! The weather was hot and humid where we were hiking but we all had a great time! We saw some beautiful nature, weird bugs, and watched Doug climb a big cliff!! Silly boy! Maybe he didn't want to make it to his 27th birthday after all! :) We had a picnic lunch and it started to sprinkle a bit but never rained completely! After hiking, we went to some shops to get some ice cream and saw the most unique craft mall ever! Kate got some wonderful ideas for some white elephant gifts! If I end up with a lacy apron, someone is going to get all their gifts returned :) We had a great time!!
