Iris' 1st trip to the dentist!

Yesterday, we took Iris to the dentist for her first check-up an she did great!! We had heard that Dr JoJo was amazing and she definitely held up to the title! She was so sweet! Everyone was friendly and welcoming!! The office was super cute and tailored to kids! Iris did cry during the exam but dr Jo Jo let me hold her and was very quick! No cleaning needed as she said Iris was doing a great job brushing!!! We are able to switch her to regular toothpaste! She picked out a new toothbrush, a little tooth mirror and a few little plastic toys for doing a great job!!!

On Sunday we put up our Christmas tree!! Iris was pretty excited and kinda wondered why a tree was in the house but she enjoyed decorating it anyways!!
And elf on the shelf made his appearance!!!

Thanksgiving with the Barker's

I realized I never posted about our thanksgiving on Saturday! Here are a few pictures from the day! It was a lot of fun! There is always yummy food and Iris had a blast playing with her cousins!!

Nana came up to watch Iris while Doug and I went to the dentist so we talked her into spending the whole day and we had so much fun!!!

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Ours was unconventional =). I had to work so our day started with Iris and Doug making French toast!  Then we had garlic pesto chicken (yum!!!  Recipe found here http://cdargis.tumblr.com/post/18818836004/garlic-pesto-chicken-with-tomato-cream-penne)

Then Doug and Iris came to visit me at work and we had dinner in the cafeteria!! 

They were serving thanksgiving food so it was perfect!!

I was sad to miss out on all the traditional events but thankful 

to spend most of the day with my loves!!!

We are having our thanksgiving feast with Doug's family tomorrow!!!

Zoo lights!!

Tonight was opening night for zoo lights and it was so much fun!!! Doug left work early and we were there by 4:30! It wasn't very busy because most events didn't start until 6pm so we had some time to stroll around before it was too packed!! It was nice! Most of the animals were active including the bats eek!!! They are usually asleep but were walking all over their exhibit! We were also the only ones in the aquarium so it was nice to let Iris have room to roam!!

We were given free hot chocolate and Cheryl's cookies!! yum!!!! Iris was probably most excited about that!!! =). She saw a bunch of turtles (they seem to be her favorite for the week) and we even petted a snake!!! Momma stayed calm and didn't panic! =)

Iris seemed to really enjoy the light show! She fell asleep on the way home while we listened to Christmas music!!! Hope we can get a few more trips in before it ends!!!!
