> I wasn't planning on doing a post on iris until 2 years since that would've been the next time she would have been weighed but with her recent croup, we took her in and so we weighed her!!
>
> She is 23 lbs!
>
> She is feeling so much better and the steroid dose really stopped the croup but she was left with a nagging cough. Last night was the first night in a week she didn't wake up through the night. She coughed around midnight and I had to rock her but we had just gone to bed so that didn't count =). I am hoping the cough will go away soon! It was nice to have 8 hrs of sleep last night uninterrupted!

> Clothes: she is mostly 18 months but they are getting a little snug so we are buying 24 months and a few 2t things!!! We graduated her to size 4 diapers but 3's still fit. We use 1 disposable at bedtime and use cloth still during the day!! Size 5 shoes.
>
> Sleep: she takes mainly 1 nap now but sometimes she'll take 2. She has been off schedule the last week bc of being sick. She will take 1.5-2 hr nap around 11 am and sometimes another nap around 4:30! Usually it's only a 20 minute cat nap! She goes to bed around 8pm and gets up around 8:30 am!
>
> Food: she is still picky about texture and I still have to purée some of her food up. He has 4 molars but will still spit out food instead of chewing it. I am working with her on it! She uses a spoon and fork like a champ and requests them haha. She doesn't like sticky fingers!! She loves fruit and could eat her weight in it if I will let her! She loves " soup" and will eat my homemade chicken noodle soup if I will purée it up. She won't eat meat unless I purée it in her veggies haha. She will say "chicken" and spit it out. Little booger. She does love a hot dog though! That explains my cravings during my pregnancy with her!!!

> I think we are done nursing. We have been nursing once a day since about 18 months but lately, I have nothing to offer so she doesn't even ask. It's been intermittent lately and she wanted to nurse while she was sick so I would allow it to hopefully make her better with my antibodies! But she asks for "milk" and I say "in a cup?" And she says "ok!" =). So cute ! She finally loves her organic whole milk with DHA!!! I'm kind of happy we are done bc I am so blessed it lasted this long! Most only make it 3-6 months so I am so happy we almost made it 2 years!!! It was the best bonding ever!!!
>
> Activities: she is so busy and its been work keeping her happy while we have been Indoors. She loves to play with play dough and paint!!! Not into finger painting bc its sticky haha. But she loves to pain with a brush! She also loves reading and will look through her books constantly! She'll ride around on her new bike and sit at her table and have tea!!! She is so silly! We have fun playing all day long!!! She loves watching Barney and calliou! Elmo had been tossed to the side =(. Poor Elmo! She also loves her babies! She loves to do makeup and put on momma's burt's bees chapstick! Also, she loves being tickled and pretend sleeping in our bed!!
>
> Talking: iris impresses us daily with new words she comes up with! She is a little parrot and will repeat most thing we ask her to say! She knows colors but we have to help her pick the right one! She can also count to 4. It's more like "1,2,3,4 chicken". Haha. She always has to throw a curve ball but she's counting!!! She knows all the way up to 10 but can only say the first 4 correctly! She also says 2-3 word sentences! Also knows the difference between big and small and tall! She also knows many animals and sounds! Most of her books have animals in them and she can tell me what they all are and the sounds they make!
>
> Seriously, she amazes me with her smarts!!! Of course she's probably doing what she should at her age but it amazes me how smart kids are at this age! They can learn to communicate in a new language in less than 2 years.
>
> Goals before 2: we are hoping to take away the paci and start potty training by 2!!! These are big milestones so we are going to focus on one then the next. Iris is showing signs of being ready for potty training so we'll start it soon! Once I get my schedule with the new job, I'd love to take a few days to tackle it! Any advice/wisdom is greatly appreciated!!! We won't push her as that never works but hopefully we can get her potty trained by the summer =)

> Iris, you are the best thing to happen to us!!! Each day we love playing with you, snuggling with you and just being around you! You are so funny and brighten our day! You definitely have the best qualities of both your mother and father!!! You are a joy to be around and look forward to each new day with you! I'm always anxious to see what new skill you develop or new cute thing you do (when we think you can't possibly get any cuter!!!). We are approaching your 2nd birthday so quickly and part of me is so sad bc my baby is growing but another part is so happy because you are becoming your own person and I love watching you blossom!!! You're our little lady!! Love ya sugar bear!
