Rick and Bre's Visit!

On Saturday, Rick and Bre were heading home from Virginia for a wedding and stopped by to have lunch with us!  We love when they visit but are always super sad when we have to say good-bye!  But thanks to Rick, he forgot his sunglasses so they made another visit on their way back to Virginia yesterday so I got to spend a bit more time with them =)

We are lucky to have such wonderful friends!!!!

33 weeks

We're quickly approaching our due date and I can't believe it!  33 weeks already!  Just 4 more weeks until we are full term and 7 weeks until my due date!
 Ready or not, she's coming!!!

This coming weekends begins baby shower madness and I'm beyond giddy with excitement!!!!  The first is hosted by my mom and sister and I can't wait!

Here's their cute invitation!

Last night I felt Iris hiccup!  It was the weirdest thing but so cute.  You could tell she was starting to get annoyed b/c instead of just feeling her hiccup, she started moving and kicking all over.  I tried startling her by shaking my belly but it didn't work!  Poor thing!

Such a fun experience!
I'll surely miss feeling her move and kick around!

And now, 33 week pics!  It's surely getting harder to fit into clothes now and some of my scrubs are turning into belly shirts so it's been a bit frustrating but I have just a few weeks left! =)

Can't wait to meet her!!!

33 weeks!!!

Thanks! =)

I'm finally catching up on some of my blog posts after a fun and busy weekend!  =)  It started on Friday when I met up with a blog follower who lives in (of all places) Hilliard!!!  So funny how we found each other!  We ran into each other at Target one night but didn't realize it was each other until after the fact and we have been trying to meet up since!  So, Friday was the day and we enjoyed salad and sandwiches at Panera!  yum!!!

Thanks Brittany from sweetsassyandohsoclassy for meeting up with me and having lunch!  It was fun!

32 week OB appointment

On Friday, we had our 32 week appointment!  I always get so excited to go to them!  I love seeing my doctor and hearing Iris's heartbeat!  Nothing better than that! =)  It always starts out with peeing on a stick to see if there is anything in my urine that shouldn't be there (ketones, glucose, etc) and then I get weighed!  I was supposed to gain more this week so I have been eating lots since our last appointment!  I have had such an increase in my appetite that Doug even noticed haha.

Unfortunately, I only gained 1 lb!  Not sure where all that food is going haha
My OB is fine with it.  She said she doesn't think I'll make it above a 15 lb weight gain (10 lbs less than what the normal weight gain should be).  She knows that I'm eating healthy and I'm not watching my weight too strickly so she said that since we're both healthy, that she's comfortable with my gain.

We also discussed how I have been feeling and she suggested that I probably shouldn't work so much overtime anymore *lol*  I worked a lot this week and feel so achy and tired so she said this is the time I should start slowing down!  Other than that, I have been feeling great!  Just achy!!

She also had me lay down on the table and was checking where my uterus us!  I also asked her to check the placement of the baby to see if the head is down!  Sure enough, it was!!!  I figured I was getting all those strong kicks on the top of my stomach from her legs and butt!!!

Then we heard the heartbeat!
140's!!!!
Perfect! =)
This time she let us listen for a long time and it was wonderful!  I love looking over to Doug and seeing his face light up!!!

After the appointment we headed to first watch for breakfast!  Yum! And then Doug headed to work and I went home to nap before work!

It was a great day!!!

New Shift

This is my first week working on my new shift and it's going well!  Well, the one day that I actually worked 3-11pm =)  On Monday, I stuck with my new schedule and then on Tuesday, I pulled a 16 hr shift to help out.  We have so many patients and not enough staff (2 people on maternity leave plus others sick) so I decided to stay and help out.  Boy was I tired and achy after that.  Probably not the best idea being 8 months pregnant =)

Maybe I'm wanting Iris to come out early?!?  hehe

Since I worked 16hrs, I came home and slept for 10 hrs then went back in last night for an additional 4 hrs (7-11 pm) but ended up staying until 1pm *lol*

I'll try again on Friday to stick with my normal shift =)

But the 8 hrs fly by and it's nice having more days in a row b/c they try to put me back with the same patients so it's nice to stay with them during their stay!  The patients seem to like the continuity of care as well!

So, I'm staying hopeful I like the new hours and Doug and I think it will be best for us and the baby!

OSU Maternity Tour

You can view the virtual tour by going to the following link

Doug and I did our maternity tour yesterday and OSU and we both were very impressed!
The birthing suites were huge and the whole L&D ward was beautiful and modern.
They have a nice waiting area for people to go and stretch their legs b/c I guarantee that I won't be as lucky as my SIL, Abbey, and have a 7  minute delivery =)

After we have the baby, we'll go up to the 7th floor to the postpartum ward and those rooms aren't as spacious but are still a good size and seem comfortable.  There is a pull out couch for Doug to sleep as well!

I will be sending the family out an e-mail on directions for parking, etc.  They do offer a discounted parking rate ($2/day) for those coming to visit!!!  You just have to get your ticket validated on the 1st floor!

The floor is on lock down (which I'm very impressed with and love!) so you can't steal the baby, Mom!

I will provide you all (family) with more details but wanted to share the link to the tour and a picture of the birthing suite!!

We are very excited and I'm getting a bit nervous.  Seeing the room sent panic mode to me so I need to work on my calming skills for the next few weeks!  I have never really been in pain before so this will be an interesting experience =)

Hard to believe we have 5 weeks until I'm full term and 8 weeks until my due date!!!
April 7th will be there before we know it!

**I was so impressed that I want to work there *lol*  I will be the crazy person brining my resume to the delivery in case I get a chance to network a bit *lol*  I'm hoping that with my cardiac experience, it will increase my chances of working there! **

31 Weeks

9 more weeks to go!!!!
Eek!
So excited!
I'm doing well!  Just achy and I think I have begun to have some Braxton Hicks contractions but nothing too major!  Just some burning and cramping that comes and goes every once and awhile.

Iris is very active!  She's currently jumping around and twisting in my belly haha I have noticed she moves more when she hears Doug's voice!  Too cute!

Today, I went to Doug's work to get my back adjusted and it felt great!
Dr. LeMay thought it would be best to go every 2 weeks now to get some relief since Iris is growing and growing!

Here are my 31 week belly shots!

I started to get more of an outie haha

Have you seen any cuter Pomeranian???

Columbus Blue Jackets vs Chicago Blackhawks

For Christmas from Doug's boss, we got 2 tickets to the Columbus Blue Jackets game!!!
We have always wanted to go to a game but haven't done it yet!
So, we were super excited to get the tickets as a gift!!!

So, Doug and I braved the ice storm last night and went!

We had club seats with a great view!

The game was so much fun even though the Blue Jackets lost =(

I loved watching all the good fights and one guy got an amazing elbow to the ribs and flipped into the wall =)
Iris loved it as well!
I think she could sense my excitement b/c she was wiggling the whole night!

So much fun!!!
Can't wait to go again!
