17 weeks

How far along?  Now that my date has moved, I'm not sure how many weeks I am haha. I'm starting my 17th week but should be 18 weeks. Craziness!  Time is flying by

Total weight gain: Since my appt on Monday, I am gaining back 2 of my total 12 lb loss!  yeah!!!

Maternity clothes? Yes please =)  My pre-pregnancy jeans are now getting snug except 1 pair so I was lucky to find 2 pairs of maternity jeans at the baby sale that I have been wearing.  So thankful that I wear scubs to work b/c my drawstring pants still fit just fine and will continue and I won't have to buy new scrubs....yeah!  I am not liking snug fitting clothing so it's nice that I have a few cozy outfits.  Also, leggins have been my best friend.  They are cheap and super cozy!

Stretch marks? I think I may have spotted some on my thighs but I could have had them all ready thanks to my ghetto booty =)

Sleep: Very interrupted!  Thanks to my frequent need to pee ALL THE TIME!  I am also very uncomfortable and notice I toss and turn a lot more.

Best moment this week? Finding out that we are having a baby girl!!!!!!!!  Words can't describe our excitement and we cannot wait to meet the little miss! =)

Movement? Not as often as i would like.  I have felt her move a little bit but I'm sure I will feel her move more and more as she continues to grow!  I'm anxious for Doug to feel her move.

Food cravings? Sweets!  I have been craving lots of fresh fruit and lots of baked goods and Jeni's ice cream!  I made 2 dozen chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing and they were so yummy this week!

Labor signs? None =)

Belly button: Is getting more shallow.  I can now get the gunk out *lol*
What I miss? caffeinated pop but I found a new love for caffeine free pepsi!  Yum!  That stuff tastes the same as regular pepsi!
What I'm looking forward to: Going to Chicago with Doug in 2 weeks for our "babymoon" trip.  Doug has a conference for work there and I'm tagging along for a few days away.  We're hoping to find a few things for the little miss and start christmas shopping!  It'll also be an early anniversary present to ourselves.  It'll be 4 years of marriage bliss on December 16th!
Milestones? Finally finding an end to the puking and nausea!  I never thought it would end and I'm so happy it has!  Now, just enjoying my pregnancy and trying to eat better and trying to get enough calories in!

Waiting?? We don't wait!

Doug and I had our 16 week OB appointment yesterday.  Unfortunately, our OB was running out the door to deliver a baby as we were going back.  We were disappointed because I finally came equipped with questions!  Instead of seeing her, we saw one of the RN's and she was able to answer some of our questions and still let us hear the heart beat.  The baby's heart beat was great to hear!  It was in the 140-150's so it was perfect!!!  It was so great to hear.  I'm also about 2 lbs ahead!!!  I was happy to have put some of my 12lb loss back on!

Before we were finished, we asked the nurse if we could schedule our 20 week ultrasound a bit early at like 18 weeks but she said no.  Insurance wouldn't cover it =(  We were super sad.  She did say that there was a place in Columbus that did those 4-D ultrasounds and that they also did gender ultrasounds.  I started to laugh and thought, at what price?!?  She said it was much cheaper than having them do one!  So, we just pushed the idea aside and left.  We scheduled our gender ultrasound for November 19th.  Seemed like an eternity away.

Our ritual is to go to Steak'n Shake afterwards (for me to add more calories) and so we had an early dinner and pondered the idea.  Doug got his blackberry out and googled the place.  The prices weren't bad at all so I decided to call just to see if they could fit us in.  We had an appointment for 8:20pm!  We were stoked!  The only person who knew was Beth...I just had to tell her =)  So, we decided to head to Polaris Mall first to look at baby stuff to kill some time.

We arrived at the place and had to wait for 2 families to go back before us.  Waiting was so hard!!!  Just knowing in just a few short minutes, we'd find out the sex was so exciting!  Finally, it was our turn.  We went back into the ultrasound room and it was dark and spa like.  They had a huge couch plus stadium seating.  Apparently, you could bring your whole family *lol*   They had a nice big cozy bed for me to lay on.  She played soft music and we started the ultrasound.  She was showing us pictures of the baby and looking around.  After a few minutes she said she thought she knew the sex but wanted to make sure.  I told her to let us guess first and then tell us.  So, she said she was 100% sure of it and let me guess.  With my gut feeling, I always knew this was going to be a boy so I said boy.

She smiled..........................
Said, no...............
It's a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was speechless!!!  I got all teary eyed and couldn't speak!  It was amazing to finally know the little bean that is inside of me!  I think Doug and I both were in shock.  Every once and awhile, I would look over at him and he would be grinning from ear to ear.  The whole time, he had his hand in mine and we were in awe to finally see our baby girl!

Afterwards, we called the mom's (and of course, Beth back b/c she was patiently waiting to hear the results). They were all pretty excited!!!  I called more of our family and friends today to share the good news!

So, there is lots of pink in our future!!! =)

Now, I will give you the privilege of seeing our baby girl =)  She's precious!  She has the cutest button nose and the longest chicken legs ever!  Not sure where she got those from!

She's already a thumb sucker!
this is the 2nd ultrasound that she did this!

She loves to have her hands up by her face

Isn't she precious?!?

We are in love!

My due date did change from April 7th to April 3rd so we'll see if it changes any more!  She was 16 weeks and 1 day in these pictures!

Baby finds at the Hilliard Baby Sale =)

Doug and I had Abbey and Kate come up to go to the baby sale.  My SIL, Abbey is due in January and is having a boy so they were looking for some good deals as well!  We got in line 30 minutes early and were about 200+ people back!  Craziness!  Kate made us some yummy cinnamon rolls and Doug went on a starbucks (caffeine free for the mommas) run so we were fueled and ready to go!  We paid our $2 to get in and were ready to shop!  Doug and I started at the bouncy seats and then he split off to find our jumparoo that we wanted!  All in all, it was a GREAT day!  We found so many good deals and had fun in the process.  It was crazy to see everyone there grabbing stuff but we did pretty good!

These are our great finds!
Not pictured is 2 pairs of maternity jeans and a maternity top!

Doug and I decided to do cloth diapers with our baby so I was stoked when Abbey called me to tell me they had Fuzzi Bunz diapers =)  They averaged about $10 each so it was a steal!  They came with liners too!

The liner fits in the middle and is absorbent

My other great finds!  We picked up another diaper warmer for our changing station on the first floor!
The wedge pillow is supposed to be nice for sleeping once my belly grows!
*thanks Abbey for finding that*

Our jumparoo!!! =)  It's super cute and a jungle theme!
Great find Doug!

So, we left pretty happy!!!

I've been tagged =)

Thanks to Lauren from 22 yr old housewife, I've been tagged in this little game =)  I have to answer these questions then tag 9 others to answer these or other questions that I make up!
  1. Why do you blog?  I blog to update my family and friends on our little life.  We live at least an hour away from our family so it's nice to keep them all updated on what we're doing.  Plus, since I'm preggers, it's nice to post pictures of what we are doing and my growing belly!
  2. What is your favorite blog out there? Why?  Oh gosh...I don't think I have a favorite.  I try to read each and everyone on my follow list.  Some I really enjoy when they update b/c they are so cute and helpful!
  3. What is your favorite season and why?  I'd say spring!  Each has their own favorite parts but spring is so nice b/c it's so sunny and the flowers start to poke from the ground
  4. If you were to pick one actress that is most like you (looks wise) who would it be?  This one is hard...but maybe Reese Witherspoon????  We're both short with blonde hair and my in-laws laugh and say that when they see Legally Blonde they think of me =)
  5. Cats or dogs? Why? I have both but prefer dogs.  I love my dogs b/c they are fun and I love to take them to the parks or dog parks.  They always make me laugh
  6. What is your all time favorite TV show?  Friends :)  Too funny!
  7. If you could recommend one place to vacation where would it be?  Sullivan's Island, SC...amazing place and can't wait to go back!
  8. &&& Finally, How was it that you became a follower of this blog?  I can't remember exactly but I went searching through other followers "blogs that they follow" and came across your cute blog :)  I love reading your updates and love the pictures in your title page!
Next...I'm tagging 8 blogs to answer these questions :)  I'm supposed to make up my own but I'm being a little lazy :)

Have a great weekend!

See the orange baby?

Such a beautiful face!

The tiger tried to eat me =)

I was lucky to not have to go into work last night.  They called to see if I wanted to be put "on-call."  I jumped at the chance since it was the weekend!  I figured they would call me in at 4am but I didn't receive 1 call!  It was great!  So, Doug and I took advantage of my unexpected day off and headed to the zoo today!  It was very hot out but we got there early and had a great time!  We started where we left off and tried to see what all we missed since our last visit!

The polar bears where enjoying a nice swim and it was great to see them swim this time!

It's wonderful to live so close to such fun things in Columbus!

***baby update***
I started to feel the baby move a little this past week!  Feels like a little fish swimming inside of me!  Very neat!
Baby is the size of an apple and I have been loving things salty today!  I have been eating sea salt chips, olives, tomatoes coated in salt...I can't get enough!  I also am still drinking like there is a drought and my belly is growing like crazy!  We bought a scale and I weighed myself at Walmart.  One scale said I was down yet another 2 lbs and the other said I gained 3lbs.  So, we bought the scale that said I gained *lol*  Our 16 week (technically 17 weeks) OB appointment is next Monday! Hard to believe I'm starting my 4th month of pregnancy on Tuesday!!!
