Happy 8 Months Iris!!!
**a little late but you have done so much now that you are 8 months**
This has been such an exciting month and I cannot believe how big you are getting!!!
We also had our first ill visit to the pediatrician this month! My sweet baby girl was sick over Christmas but we tried not to let it bring us down =) You were a trooper but we decided to take you to the doctor just in case. You had your first fever but we think you had just a little virus and are doing better each week!
The good thing was that we weighed you again and you are a big 17 lbs!!! woohoo!
Christmas morning, you woke up with your "sick" rosy cheek!
Clothes: You are in 6 months but mostly 9 months at this point. Still 3-6 month jeans though. For some reason, those are so big on you! You are also in one-size bum genius diapers and stage 3 diapers when we need to put you in them. You are really growing and getting so long! Its fun to put on all your new clothes that have been having for months in your closet!!
Food: I make about 90% of your baby food and you are eating solids 3 times a day now. You eat oatmeal baby cereal with fruit in the morning. A veggie and fruit for lunch, and the same for dinner. We have also introduced "snacks" and you love your organic yogurt melts and puffs. You have mastered the pincer grasp this month so you can officially feed yourself =)
We are still going strong with nursing!!!! Each month, I am so thankful that we have continued to exclusively nurse and have that special bond!!! We'll keep it up until you are one or after!!! Yay!!! I nurse you every 4 hrs now when you are awake. That has been one of the big changes this month! You are doing well with the stretch of hours from 3 hrs to 4 hrs. Didn't seem to faze you at all. When I'm at work, you take 5 oz of breast milk in a bottle. You eat at 8am, 12pm, 4pm, then again at 8pm. I have started weaning you from nursing through the night to see if we can get you to finally sleep through the night!!!
Sleep: Still in the works with getting you to sleep through the night but we are getting there!!! You still have your bedtime between 7:30pm and 8pm and you have been sleeping until 7:45am! You have gotten up twice a night but I just go in and rub your belly and give you kisses and tell you to go back to sleep. Sometimes you fuss for a few minutes and other times, you go right back to sleep. We'll continue to do this and see how it goes!
Activities: You are crawling!!!!!!!!!!! Dadda called me on December 20th to tell me that you started army crawling while I was at work! We were both thrilled and you have been on the move ever since =) You can get around so fast now and it's been fun to see where you go. You love Wesley's crate! We have to keep the door closed so you don't hurt yourself. You also would crawl to the christmas tree =) You loved the sparkly lights and everything underneath!!
You also love riding around in your new car that grammy bought you and playing with all your new toys!!
Likes: You love playing on the floor with all your toys and watching word world, barney, and other shows on tv. We only let you watch it when momma's busy in the kitchen or we have it on while we are playing on the floor together. You also enjoy story time and going to the library for baby lap time. Your favorite song is "walking on Joe" You get the biggest grin when we sing that song!!!
Wesley is even enjoying the smell of you as well =)
Dislikes: Currently, getting your snotty nose wiped or suctioned. That sends you over the edge so quick haha. You also still hate peas and potatoes!!! You also do not like things taken from you or being moved away from something that you just crawled to. Such hard work for nothing!!
Words: You say "dadda" all the time and started saying momma this month!!! Melted my heart and you gave me the best christmas present ever!!!
Personality: You are so much fun! Such a joy to have in my life. I am such a lucky momma to have such a sweet and loving baby girl!! I cannot wait to see you when I get home from work or when you wake up in the morning. You greet me with the biggest smile and the best hugs ever!!! You have now started giving me kisses and they are so precious!!! I can't believe how big you are getting and seeing each month the new things that you can do and discover!!!
