Weekend recap!

Now, I'm offically caught up!!!

This weekend was so much fun!  Doug and I looked forward to our 3 day weekend!!!
On Saturday, we headed home for our first official over night!  We spent the morning at Urbana's flea market to visit Doug's dad who set up a booth there.  It was sooooo hot so we didn't stay long.  Afterwards, Iris and I took a nice long nap in the air conditioning to cool off!

Afterwards, we just hung out and had dinner with Doug's sister's family, and his parents outside on the picnic table.  Such yummy food and great company!

That night, Iris was exhausted so she went down without a fight.  We all did =)
She slept well until 2am where there was a very loud and nasty storm.  After that woke her, I nursed her and tried to get her back to bed but she was determined to talk our ear off.  I let her and the next time I woke up, she had talked herself to sleep =)  Silly girl!

The next day, Auntie Abbey and her family come over for breakfast!  I also had a good friend stop by for a quick visit since she was in town for the holiday weekend.  She lives in Tennessee so we don't get to see each other as often as we like!  It was great seeing you Abby!!!  I'm so happy you finally got to meet Iris!

After breakfast, the kiddos played a bit...

And then we got the bright idea to get a group photo shot and this is how it turned out...

Poor Addy just wanted a picture with her brother and cousin, "Irish" =)
we all laughed so hard!
(no babies were harmed in this photo shoot)

Later that day, Abbey had a labor day cook-out so Iris got all dressed up!!

She thoroughly enjoyed herself as did we!
The food was yummy as always and it was so nice to visit with everyone!!!

Dinner with Sara and Jake

This past Wednesday, Sara and Jake invited us over for dinner!  We haven't gotten to do that very often since Iris was born so it was nice to finally get over to their house and catch up!

Iris enjoyed playing with Ashton and Ashton loved giving Iris kisses!

We had the best time and it was so exciting to find out that Sara is pregnant with another little baby!!!! Woohoo William's family =)  Can't wait to meet the new one in February!!!

Balloon Festival

Last weekend, we took Iris to the balloon festival in Grove City.  My mom, sister, and her family met up with us and it was so much fun!!  We weren't sure what to expect since we haven't gone before and we weren't sure what Iris would think of it but we decided to try it and we ALL had a blast!!!! =)

It was too windy so they didn't have the balloons up but they did have the baskets with the fire and it was so neat.  Iris loved it!!!  She couldn't stop watching it when they would pull the string to get the gust of fire!

Saying "hello" to grammy!

straight for the mouth *lol*

Grammy with all her grandkids

She loved the fire =)

We'll definitely have to go again next year!!! =)

Last few days of Summer

With my new job, I have been on days (7-3:30pm).  It has been wonderful being home every night with Doug and Iris.  It sucks having to get up at 4:45am to get ready, feed Iris, and get her ready for the sitters.  I also hate it that she has had to go to the sitters 4 days a week.  But with Doug's mom coming up once a week and my mom filling in when she can, it's made it so nice that some days, Iris can sleep in and doesn't have to be away from home!

Doug and I have also taken advantage of our family time and have been going to parks, cooking, going on walks, and anything else we can do before my hours go back to 3-11pm.  Also, the days are getting shorter and the weather is getting cooler so we have been trying to soak up as much sun as we can!!

Last week, we went to a park, Glacier Ridge, outside Dublin and had the best time!

On top of the look-out tower

Goodbye Summer!
We will miss you!

We are looking forward to your return next year and look forward to see what Iris, Doug, and I will get into!!!
