Doug, Wesley and I had a great trip to Virginia to visit Rick and Bre. They live in Chesapeake, VA and is about 20 minutes from the ocean. We had a wonderful time :) We went to see Cape Henry Lighthouse for mom. That was a fun experience *lol* We ended up having to go onto an active naval base. So we had to get out of our car so they could inspect it before we could see the lighthouses. They actually had 2 lighthouses on the base. Old Cape Henry and the New Cape Henry. We also went to see botanical gardens to take some beautiful picture of the flowers there. It was a hot hot day so we started on a boat tour first. That was neat. We got to see 2 bald eagles and lots of turtles. We ate lunch at their little cafe and then walked around on foot some. They had the neatest rose area. Beautiful! Then, of course, we had some much needed beach time!!! We went to Sandbridge beach which was about a 40 minute drive. The beach was so nice. Reminded me a lot like SC. It wasn't as touristy like the boardwalk would have been. We got to see many crabs running on the beach. We fed them bbq baked lays! It was funny trying to watch them drag it back into their hole. We also saw dolphins on our last beach day! There were so many! It was neat to see! However, we both got a little toasty b/c I think our sunblock went on vacation too. I swear, it didn't protect us at all! So, we had to go every other day to the beach so we wouldn't be in too much pain. In the evenings, we spent time with Rick and Bre. They were kind enough to grill out most nights! We also went to dinner at a seafood place the first night. On Saturday, our last day, we went sight seeing. We headed to Portsmouth were we saw the Proposal at the Commodore theater. It's an old time theater where you can order food and watch a movie. Then we took the ferry over to Norfolk where we walked around a bit then had dinner at an Italian Restaurant called Amore. It was delicious! We had a wonderful time in Virginia and cannot wait to go back!
