our house if blowing up with baby gear!!!!!!!!!

Doug and I scored big today!  Our scion was packed full of baby stuff =)  We started at a community sale which was miss leading...only about 5 garage sales on the street but this lady had lots to pick from!

We got this cute travel swing but unfortunately it was missing the back panel for the batteries.  It was only $8 so we're going to try to rig something up if not, we'll just register for one!  loved the idea!  it's supposed to swing, play music, and have a little light show.  We can still at least push the baby haha

We also got the baby a small bobby, a wipes warmer, there along with clothes, swaddle blanket, and BORN FREE bottle for only 25 cents!!!!  Those are about $10 for a single bottle!  All the clothes were 50 cents each and are so cute!  Some are unisex but we couldn't resist on the little monkey outfit! =)

This is our new pottery barn bedding set for $12!!!  Mobile, bumper pads and duvet cover!  We can get matching sheets at target but the colors are pretty unisex and the theme is letters and animals.  So cute!

We got a matching diaper changer pad and cover, pillow thingy to keep baby on his back, and a graco carrier pouch!

At another garage sale we found this aquarium swing that's origionally $139.99 for $35!!!  We love it!  It's missing a tray but we found it on ebay and can order it!

This thing is cute!  After a nap, we googled how to put it together *lol* and it can either lay underneath and do belly time or the bottom blanket can go over the legs and make like a little tunnel.  So cute for $10!

So, we were thrilled!  Now, we have no where to store all this baby stuff so I think the baby's room will have to be the next thing on our list so we have room to store all this for the next 6 months!
A trip to Ikea for floors and the crib soon!!! =)

12 weeks

Today we met our OB that will deliver the baby and had our 12 week check up!  Everything went well!  Doug and I really like our OB and think Dr. Pool will be great!  She was very approachable and answered all my questions.  Went over all my lab work and basically said that I'm doing everything well!  They were a little concerned about my weight loss but she wants to see me turn things around!  She thinks that since I'm approaching the 2nd trimester, I will feel better and will start to gain! =)

We didn't do an ultrasound but she did doppler my stomach!!!!  That was neat!  She put the gel on and right away the baby started moving.  You could hear a "woosh" as he would swim by quickly *lol*  We did finally catch him for a split second and could hear the fast heart beat and then "woosh" he was gone!  she tried for a few minutes and she was thinking he went down below my pelvis and wouldn't come up!  He ran for cover =)  Little booger!  He was just teasing us!  So, she said that he's very active and obviously doing fine!  She also did give me the okay to doppler myself at work!!!  I doppler people's legs all the time to check pulses when I can't feel it so I can just listen when it gets slow at work!

We will be doing an ultrasound on September 29th!  We're being tested for down syndrome and will have to do an ultrasound at OSU (same building where Doug works) and really look at the baby.  We decided to go ahead with this testing b/c the dr said that if it's positive, I would be high risk then and the baby would need special care once I deliver!  I'm just excited to get an ultrasound!!!!  I will be happy with whatever the result is but want to make sure me and the baby will be safe!

Our next appointment with Dr. Pool will be October 18th for our 16 week visit!  We'll do another ultrasound at 20 weeks when we will hopefully find out the sex!!!  Can't wait to find out if we're having a mini Doug or mini Ashlie!!!  I still feel it may be a boy but the past few weeks I have had a feeling it will be a girl so who knows!!!  What do you all think?

I'll leave you with a few pictures of my growing belly! =)

We also took a joy ride this evening to get milk shakes and tested out the new daddy wagon with the pups!  Lola could fit comfortable in the back!!!  She could even turn around!!!  She already tried to jump the seat and successfully made it so we have to keep the head rests up but she seemed to like it!  Wesley enjoyed the ride in his dog bed!!

Doug's New Daddy Wagon =)

With our little edition coming in 7 short months, we have been in need of a bigger car.  Doug's Jetta has been costing us more than it's worth so we have had our eyes out for a SUV.  My little bubble car just isn't roomy enough for all the baby gear so we bought a car last weekend!

The criteria that we needed to match was that it needed:

  1. To be safe...safe...safe
  2. To be big enough for an airedale to rest comfortably in the back (trunk area)
  3. To fit strollers, car seats, and all the many things we need for baby B
  4. be a decent price
  5. look cute!

What we decided on was a:
Scion XB
(for extra Barker *lol*)

I think he loves his new daddy wagon!

Also, we're entering our 12th week!!!!
So excited to end the first trimester and begin the 2nd one!
We have our 12 week appointment on Friday!

I have began to show a little so I plan to take pictures this week to show off my tiny belly!  With the weight loss from the n/v, I have gone down a size in pants but have to unbutton the tops when I sit for my growing belly!
So silly!

A little purchase for the baby!

Sorry that it seems like forever since I posted.  This whole nausea and vomiting crap is really getting annoying *lol*  5 weeks...going on 6 is about 6 too long!  Some days are better than others (like today) but when it's bad, it's really bad and all I want to do is sleep and over dose myself on zofran (well, not really!)

Last weekend, I was feeling pretty good and Doug came up with the idea to go check out some garage sales in the area for some baby stuff.  Since the baby will be coming in April, we won't have very many opportunities to get some things cheap from now until then.  So, we thought we would take this opportunity to see what we could find since it might be our last chance for the summer!

We went to a few with no such luck but then we found one that had this cute cradle.  We were hoping to find something to keep in our bedroom when the baby is still very tiny so I wouldn't have to get out of bed every 2 hrs to nurse.  So, I asked the nice lady how much and she said $10!  For the bedding and everything!  **sold**

It's super cute and simple.  It can rock or you can put the legs down and keep it stationary!

Even Lynx likes it....bad cat!

Wicked

Shortly after graduation, my friend, Jess, thought it would be fun for the girls to get together again in August to go see Wicked!  I have always wanted to see that play so I was totally psyched!!!

So, on Tuesday, August 24, the girls got all dressed up and hit the town for some fun!

Amber, me, Jenny, and Jess at Haiku in the Short North

Walking to the Ohio Theater in Downtown Columbus

Can I just say that we had the best seats!!!!
6 rows back from the stage!
I about peed myself from the excitement *lol*

This scary dragon thing above the stage!

Please excuse my camera.  The lighting just wasn't hitting right b/c the place was absolutely amazing!
We weren't supposed to take pictures but I tried to get a few before the show!

Jess, Amber and I before the show

Jenny and I

The show was absolutely amazing!!!  It was a bit scary at times b/c the flying monkeys were a bit creepy!
The whole event was so much fun!
If you have never seen Wicked before, you definitely should!  I can't wait for it to come to town again!

Thanks Jess, for thinking of us and inviting us all for this fun girl's night!!!
